: Workshop Manager
Position: Garage Supervisor (heavy-duty trucks and machines)
Job Summary:
The Garage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the garage, ensuring the effective maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy duty vehicles and equipment. This role involves managing a team of mechanics and technicians, coordinating workflow, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance tasks while optimizing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operations Management:
• Supervise all maintenance and repair activities in the garage to ensure vehicles and equipment are serviced efficiently and meet operational requirements.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules for preventive and corrective tasks.
• Monitor work orders to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards.
2. Team Leadership:
• Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of mechanics, technicians, and support staff.
• Assign tasks and monitor team performance to ensure productivity.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
• Address performance issues and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
3. Inventory and Equipment Management:
• Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to avoid delays in service.
• Oversee the condition and maintenance of garage tools and equipment.
• Ensure procurement of high-quality spare parts within budget.
4. Safety and Compliance:
• Enforce adherence to safety standards and protocols within the garage.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with legal regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on vehicle performance, downtime, and expenses.
• Provide input for budgeting and forecasting for maintenance activities.
6. Customer Service:
• Communicate with internal stakeholders (e.g., fleet managers, operations team) to understand vehicle requirements and prioritize tasks.
• Address complaints or issues related to vehicle maintenance promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in automotive repair or fleet maintenance (preferred).
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a supervisory role within a garage or workshop.
• Hands-on experience with different types of vehicles and equipment.
