Job Summary

The Wood Decor Factory Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of factory operations focused on producing custom wood decor and furniture for weddings, conferences, exhibitions, and special events. This role requires a blend of strategic planning, operational management, quality control, and efficient resource use to achieve high standards in both production and client satisfaction. A strong leader with advanced managerial and woodworking machinery expertise, the Factory Manager will lead production teams, coordinate with suppliers and internal departments, ensure material availability, and drive productivity improvements. They serve as the primary point of contact for the executive team, providing detailed reports and performance analyses.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning and Operational Management :
• Develop and execute strategic production plans to meet objectives, ensuring the production schedule aligns with client demands and deadlines.
• Manage all aspects of factory operations, maintaining a high-quality, efficient production process tailored to custom decor needs.
• Woodworking Machinery Expertise :
• Supervise the use of woodworking machines, ensuring they are utilized effectively to maximize productivity and meet quality standards.
• Implement and enforce machinery maintenance procedures to ensure the factory's equipment is reliable and safe.
• Budget and Financial Management :
• Prepare and manage the factory's budget, monitor costs and revenues, and maintain financial goals.
• Submit detailed financial reports on production costs, profitability, and challenges for upper management review.
• Process Improvement and Efficiency Optimization :
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reducing waste, increasing productivity, and optimizing resource utilization.
• Analyze production costs, identify areas for efficiency improvements, and implement solutions to achieve cost savings.
• Inventory and Raw Material Management :
• Oversee inventory to ensure a steady supply of essential materials, including wood, fabrics, and metals.
• Collaborate with procurement to maintain a consistent flow of quality materials that align with production needs.
• Supplier and Partnership Management :
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, regularly evaluating them to meet quality and cost standards.
• Negotiate contracts and supply terms, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainability.
• Human Resource Management and Team Development :
• Supervise and allocate tasks across the production team, ensuring effective workflow, productivity, and alignment with project goals.
• Hire, train, and develop technical staff, focusing on continuous skill enhancement and team efficiency.
• Quality Control and Assurance :
• Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the production cycle, conducting regular inspections, and implementing improvements.
• Generate quality reports and review client feedback to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination :
• Collaborate with design and sales teams to align production with client requirements, ensuring smooth project execution.
• Provide upper management with comprehensive production reports on output, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Preventive Maintenance Planning and Equipment Management :
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment, minimizing downtime and maintaining reliability.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to uphold equipment functionality and production efficiency.
• Performance Reporting and Analysis :
• Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly reports on production metrics, quality, and operational costs.
• Offer insights and analyses to support strategic decisions, identifying improvement trends for sustained operational excellence.
• Occupational Safety and Health Compliance :
• Enforce strict safety and health standards to ensure a secure working environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and implement preventive measures to minimize workplace risks.
• Leadership and Personal Strength :
• Lead with a strong personality and robust managerial skills, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Encourage and motivate the team to maintain high morale and achieve production targets efficiently.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience in managing a production facility, ideally within the wood decor or furniture manufacturing sector, with a specialization in decor for weddings, conferences, and exhibitions.
• Extensive hands-on knowledge of woodworking machinery and manufacturing processes, including cutting, shaping, and assembly.
• Strong quality control skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety standards and commitment to a safe working environment.
• Strong leadership qualities and the ability to communicate effectively to guide and develop the production team.
• Expertise in training and developing technical skills within the team, with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Experience in inventory management and resource allocation.
• Skilled in analyzing production processes and performance metrics to identify efficiencies and reduce waste.
• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Carpentry, or a related field (preferred).
• Fluency in English and Arabic (preferred).
• UAE driver's license required.
