RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyze engineering drawing & designs for welding requirements and prepare weld plan.
Plan, conduct, track and report welding engineering activities in each phase of projects.
Review WPS, processes, documents to ensure welding code and design requirements are satisfied.
Implement in welding to evaluate possible application to improve or remedy existing welding processes.
Provide welding engineering support to Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to fabricate equipment in accordance with all applicable code and customer requirements.
Provide technical support with standards and specifications ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, BS EN, and ISO.
Perform failure analysis and root cause analysis on welding related issues and implement
Interpret all WPS, PQR and WPQ per ASME, ASTM, AWS and NDE specifications.
Ensure appropriate Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and assign welders as per welder qualification records.
Maintain / update welder qualification records, Weld Map, stress relieve charts and Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
Maintain and control inventory and issue of welding consumables and other auxiliary consumables.
Prepare project specific WPS as per project requirement
Prepare project specific WQTR as per project requirement
Actively participate in weekly review meeting and highlighting welding related issues and follow up.
Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes.
Ensuring pre- and post-heating requirements that involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post- heating requirements.
Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
Inspection of electrodes, filler wires, gases used for welding in accordance with code & project specification.
Visual Inspection of pipe fit up and weld joints and as per acceptance criteria of relevant codes / standard.
Visual Inspection of structural members fit up and weld joints as per acceptance criteria of AWS D 1.1.
Monitor preheating prior commencement of welding and Interpass temperatures during welding.
Coordinate for Non Destructive examination of welds (RT/UT/MT/PT), as per approved procedures and QC plans.
Monitor performance of the welders on the basis of RT results and promote corrective action to control.
Prepare and maintain weekly welders & Joint wise weld repair status and assisting for repair control.
Prepare Welding procedures for all material as per design and construction specification.
Prepare WQTs whenever new welder qualification is required
Witness the Procedure qualification test and guide the welder to achieve the desired welding parameters.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: -
Minimum 7 years in the field oil & Gas construction activities for onshore, offshore, Rigs/ship building
Welding Inspector certification CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 /AWS - SCWI
Excellent communications skills (written and oral) in the English language
Engineering Degree or equivalent
Exercise good organizational and time management skills.
