The welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to blueprints, layouts, and work orders. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Arc welding, and be able to interpret technical drawings. This role also involves ensuring the quality of welded joints, maintaining equipment, and adhering to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welding and Fabrication: Weld metal parts together using different techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, or Arc welding), often in a variety of positions such as vertical, horizontal, or overhead.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the specific welding requirements for each project.
• Equipment Operation: Operate welding machines, grinders, and other equipment to complete assigned tasks.
• Safety and Compliance: Follow safety procedures, including wearing protective gear, ensuring proper ventilation, and complying with OSHA regulations.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed welds for precision, accuracy, and structural integrity, making adjustments as necessary.
• Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment, identifying and troubleshooting any issues.
• Material Handling: Prepare materials and equipment for welding, including cutting, shaping, and fitting metal components.
• Collaboration: Work with other team members, such as fabricators, machinists, or engineers, to complete complex welding projects.
