Job Description

Receives Instruction and obtains the details from the Shift Supervisor regarding all materials to be welded. Plans, schedules and carries out the welding job and according to the instructions given by the Shift Supervisor. Responsible for correct and proper usage of all the equipment assigned to him Heat and dissolve metal parts to obtain molten substance used in welding or extrusion Conduct tolerance tests on welded parts to verify weld quality and conformance to specification Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions Repair structures by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling metal components using cutting torches and handtools Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture Design patterns and models for a welding project using specifications contained in a blueprint Responsible for sending the equipment to workshop or notifying the maintenance for repair or preventive maintenance of all equipment assigned to him. Responsible for the Safety in carrying out his duties and responsibilities
