Website Development:
Design, code, and modify websites from layout to function, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
Convert design mockups into fully functional websites using front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap).
Develop and maintain the back end of websites using server-side languages such as PHP, Node.js, or Python, and ensure database integration with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other database management systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, security vulnerabilities, and other technical issues that arise during the development process or on live websites.
Implement Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla and develop custom themes and plugins as needed.
Maintenance & Updates: Perform regular website updates, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure websites are secure, fast, and reliable.
Collaboration: Work closely with designers, content creators, and marketing teams to translate UI/UX designs into functional and responsive websites.
Testing & Debugging: Conduct website performance testing and debugging to ensure optimal functionality across various devices and browsers.
Optimisation: Implement best practices for website optimisation, including SEO, page load speed, and mobile responsiveness.
Content Management Systems: Customise and manage CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or Magento for dynamic content management.
Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including code comments, system architecture, and user manuals.
Stay Updated: Stay current with the latest web development trends, tools, and technologies to continually improve development processes.
Web Design:
Design User Interfaces (UI) and User Experiences (UX) that are visually engaging, functional, and intuitive.
Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for new website designs, ensuring design consistency across all platforms.
Technical Skills:
Front-End: Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and frameworks like Bootstrap or Foundation.
Back-End: Knowledge of server-side programming languages such as PHP, Node.js, or Ruby on Rails.
CMS: Experience developing websites using CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
Database: Proficient in working with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Version Control: Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Design Skills:
Proficiency in UI/UX design tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or Figma, Sketch, and Invision.
Experience designing for responsive and mobile-first websites.
Knowledge of design systems, style guides, and branding elements.
Desired Experience and Qualifications
An ideal Web Developer should have 3-4 years of experience in digital marketing roles and a deep understanding of digital marketing principles and practices.
Experience with e-commerce platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON for integrating third-party services.
Knowledge of web animation techniques (e.g., CSS animations, SVG, Canvas, or WebGL).
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
