The Arab Monetary Fund aims to onboard a "Web Designer and Developer" in the Communications and Media Team, reporting to the Director of Executive Office.
Job Purpose
The Web Designer and Developer is responsible for creating and maintaining the visual aesthetics, user interface, and functionality of websites and web applications. This role delivers engaging, responsive, and user-friendly online experiences in addition to enhancing AMF's digital presence through ensuring that web properties are optimized for usability, speed, and performance, adhering to brand guidelines and technical specifications.
Key Accountability Areas and Activities
The key activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Conduct research and analyze competitor websites to identify trends and best practices.
Create wireframes, mock-ups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
Design website layouts, color schemes, and graphics ensuring they are visually appealing and align with brand identity.
Collaborate with marketing and content teams to incorporate multimedia elements such as images, videos, and infographics.
Convert design mock-ups into functional HTML/CSS/JavaScript code.
Develop responsive web pages that work seamlessly across various devices and browsers.
Implement interactive features using JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Optimize website performance by minimizing load times and improving overall site speed using techniques like lazy loading and code splitting.
Write server-side code using languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, or Node.js.
Develop and maintain databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
Integrate third-party services and APIs to extend website functionality.
Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure user data.
Conduct user research through surveys, interviews, and usability testing to gather insights on user behavior and preferences.
Analyze user feedback and website analytics to identify areas for improvement.
Implement changes based on user feedback to enhance the overall user experience.
Ensure that websites are accessible and comply with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards.
Regularly update website content, including text, images, and multimedia elements.
Monitor website performance and troubleshoot issues such as broken links, slow load times, and security vulnerabilities.
Apply updates and patches to content management systems and plugins.
Ensure that websites are backed up regularly and can be restored in case of data loss.
Work closely with cross-functional to define project requirements and timelines.
Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
Provide training and support to internal teams on the use of website content.
Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to project planning sessions.
Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of 7 years of experience in web design and development preferably in Financial or Banking environment
Bachelor's degree in computer science, web design, graphic design, or related field
Master's degree in computer science, web design, graphic design, or any other related field is preferred.
Professional Certificates: Certified Web Developer, UX Design Certification, JavaScript Certification or relevant are preferred.
Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and English. French, as a third language, is a solid advantage
