Watch Technician

is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing watches, ensuring they are in proper working condition. The job typically involves tasks such as:

Repair and Maintenance

: Diagnose and repair mechanical, quartz, and digital watches. Replace or repair broken components (gears, springs, hands, crystals, batteries, etc.). Clean and lubricate watch mechanisms to maintain smooth operation.

Assembly and Disassembly

: Disassemble and reassemble watches for repairs or routine servicing. Ensure proper sealing and assembly to maintain water resistance and functionality.

Quality Control

: Test watches for accuracy and performance using specialized equipment. Inspect for defects, including damage to cases, crystals, and bands.

Customer Service

: Interact with customers to understand issues or service needs. Provide estimates and timelines for repairs or services. Offer recommendations on watch care and maintenance.

Record Keeping

: Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and service history. Document customer interactions, complaints, and resolutions.

Technical Skills

: Use specialized tools and equipment such as timing machines, magnifying glasses, and screwdrivers. Keep up-to-date with new watch technologies and repair methods.

Skills & Qualifications

:

Strong attention to detail and dexterity for handling small components. Knowledge of different watch movements (e.g., automatic, manual, quartz). Experience in working with various watch brands and models. Technical or vocational training in horology or watchmaking is often preferred.
