Job Description

Warranty & Product Support Specialists will review the Aircraft, Engines and systems contracts and develop a process to ensure and provide all respective Engineering business groups the full visibility to utilize their own areas of product support terms and commercial incentives to maximize benefits to Emirates.In this role, you will:
  • Evaluate and negotiate all the warranty and product support issues across the entire Emirates fleet through constant liaison with both the concerned internal departments and the associated suppliers. To constantly evaluate and assess Emirates requirements on the entire product support front through contractual and commercial negotiations to ensure the optimization of maintenance costs to the maximum all throughout the product life cycle.
  • Qualify work completed within the scope of warranty and guarantees on all aircraft, engines, and components in order to ensure that claims are raised as per contracts and accepted by manufacturers to maximize benefits to Emirates. To control the operational daily transactional warranty and guarantees functions and its associated responsibilities and ensure effective implementation of all processes, which include Base & Line Defects qualification review for warranty claim purposes, Warranty Modification Service Bulletins claims (in-house correction claims, and Power plant, cabin and IFE.
  • Review the contractual terms and remedies provided in new contract matrices released by (the Contract Management Unit (CMU), as well as aircraft and engine commitment letters. Define and establish processes and disseminate for effective implementation.
  • Ensure that all team members have a thorough understanding of the contractual scope of warranty and guarantees, all product support elements, and the contractual remedies.
  • As necessary, highlight technical issues to the Warranty Engineer for further investigation and analysis and approve all scrap workflow within the limits of authority. Manage to provide comments on the scrap unit based on the contractual provisions available.
  • Review, analyse and enhance the product support terms offered by suppliers as per the need of Emirates business and bring the product support agreements to the latest industry standards.
  • Review and analyze the commercial as well support terms on product and design issues and related maintenance activities that have been either mandated by the aviation authorities and/or (Original Equipment Manufacturers) OEMs to be complied with or initiated based on findings and experiences by Emirates.
  • Evaluate with key stakeholders on upcoming maintenance programs, limitations of the current contractual setups in place with suppliers, enhancements, and evolutions to the current product support standards offered in view of the increasing fleet size and constant optimization of maintenance costs.
  • Initiate program support requests and business cases with suppliers based on design and reliability issues for support on additional maintenance burden over and above the contractual obligations. Assist Manager Warranty & Procurement Services & Product Support to continuously enhance existing product support elements and supplier performance management processes in accordance with latest terms available in the industry in order to reflect such state of the art terms in Emirates new Buyer Furnished Equipment contracts and eventually attain maximum remedies and benefits.
  • Monitor and ensure that aircraft system, component, engine, IFE, and cabin defects, modifications, reliability, direct maintenance cost, and commitment letters are reviewed, qualified, and claimed in a timely manner, in accordance with the defined processes. Ensure that all claims initiated by team members are accurate and complete with all the claim elements (e.g., labor man-hours, materials, freight, no-charge loans, and free of retrofits, including defect qualification) prior to submission to aircraft manufacturers and/or vendors.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the below requirements:Qualifications:
  • Procurement/Aircraft +5 years
  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
Knowledge/Skills
  • Experience in Procurement, Aircraft, Engineering, Aerospace Industry
  • Graduate in Aeronautical Engineering/Commercial/Business Administration/Finance OR A Level with a minimum of 8 years of Airline or Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) experience
  • Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) experience, or Original Equipment Manufacturer experience, or Aerospace experience in other suitable Engineering Airline
  • Knowledge of engineering support services processes, warranty systems, procurement processes, supplier management
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and processes
  • Knowledge of airline finance and costing is preferred
  • Good knowledge of contracts and experience in contracts interpretation
  • Solid reporting writing, data analysis, and analytical thinking skills
  • Excellent Excel skills
