Responsibilities:Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performancePlan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customersCreate and implement best practice logistics principles, policies and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performanceDeliver solutions to logistics problems while maintaining high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirementsMonitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costsNegotiate rates and contracts with transportation and logistics providersRecommend optimal transport modes, routes or frequencySelect carriers/suppliers and monitor service against performance criteriaEnsure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or deliveryResolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issuesReview impact of logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product volumes or carriers and report results to othersAssess and make recommendations for logistics processes in potential new facilities or plants and advise of cost implications and efficiencyEnsure the integrity of inventory accuracy and manage stock movements with the help of direct reportsIdentify and resolve any inventory discrepancies and ensure inventory and system records are in agreementKeep track of slow moving and obsolete stockRequired Skills:High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience in a similar roleProficiency with warehouse procedures and policiesExcellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualitiesAbility to work collaboratively with all levels of company staffAbility to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbalBe a team player
