Key Responsibilities:
Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive, escort them to their tables, and present menus.
Assist guests in choosing seating arrangements and accommodate their preferences.
Taking Orders: Answer questions about the menu, provide recommendations, and take food and beverage orders accurately.
Note any special requests, dietary restrictions, or allergies.
Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver orders from the kitchen to the correct table.
Ensure that all dishes are served at the correct temperature and presentation standards are met.
Pour and serve beverages, including wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Table Maintenance: Set up tables with appropriate tableware, utensils, and condiments.
Continuously monitor and clear tables of empty dishes and glassware during the meal.
Reset tables for the next guests.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive, courteous, and responsive to guest needs.
Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and seek solutions when issues arise.
Payment Handling: Present bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change or receipts promptly.
Maintain the security and confidentiality of cash and credit card transactions.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and coordinated service.
Communicate special requests or modifications to the kitchen.
Menu and Product Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
Be knowledgeable about wine and beverage offerings.
Cleaning and Organization: Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including wiping down tables, chairs, and menus.
Assist with general cleaning tasks as needed.
Upselling and Promotions: Suggest additional items, such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks, to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
Promote restaurant specials and promotions effectively.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
• Attention to detail and a strong memory for orders.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and lift trays and equipment.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent is typically required
• Previous experience in a restaurant/cafe
