• Greet customers when they arrive at a restaurant or establishment.
• Presents the menu to customers and announces the menu's daily or seasonal specials.
• Answers questions about menu items, ingredients and prices
• Takes food and drink orders from customers by writing them on a receipt, entering them on a tablet or memorizing them Transmits customer orders to kitchen staff for preparation
• Prepare drinks and serve them to customers
• Collects food orders from the kitchen, checks that they are correct and serves them to customers
• Ensures customers are satisfied with their meals and processes additional course orders as needed
• Removes used dishes, glasses and cutlery from tables
• Preparing checks and giving them to customers
• Processes cash and credit card payments and gives change to customers when needed
• Set the tables with crockery, glasses and cutlery and fill the condiments
• Become familiar with menu items, specials and restaurant information
• Meet daily or regularly with managers and wait staff to inquire about menu changes and specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special needs.
