Our client is a world-renowned leader in the aviation industry with over 500 employees.Job Responsibilities:You will be responsible for leading the human capital development for the entire company across recruitment, learning and development, performance management, compensation, benefits, organization and change, business partnering for HR services, and general admin functions. The VP HR designs, implements, and monitors human resource programs and policies to ensure that the organization can recruit, retain, motivate, and engage the talent it needs to deliver business success. The VP HR anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends. The VP HR is also responsible for managing and overseeing certain admin functions such as Admin and Procurement.Strategic:
  • Formulate the overall HR strategy for the company and play a role in HR decision-making on a continuous basis.
  • Lead the HR team to implement HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure timely and effective implementation of optimized organization structure, approved grading and pay levels, and rewards schemes.
  • Develop a manpower plan, design a reward system to attract/retain high-caliber candidates.
  • Supervise the recruitment process, shortlisting, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Oversee the training and development needs identified for employees as part of the training needs analysis, work requirements, or based on operational mandates, and in accordance with the approved career framework.
  • Ensure timely initiation and rollout of the annual performance cycle, measures, and management systems to support the business and individual success based on the mid-year review and end-of-year appraisals.
  • Direct the preparation of information requested or required for compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with government labor authorities and agencies on employment-related matters.
  • Develop and refresh (when needed) the companys HR strategy in line with its mandate, objective, and strategy.
  • Review org structure and recommend changes (when needed) based on the companys priorities.
  • Compare compensation and benefit levels vis-a-vis market practices, and initiate reviews if needed.
  • Maintain the organizational culture across the company and endorse change management in coordination with the CEO.
Operational:
  • Develop the annual HR budget including recruitment, compensation, and talent development.
  • Oversee the implementation of the recruitment plan for the company in line with the approved manpower plan.
  • Ensure proper payroll processing and benefits administration in line with UAE labor regulations.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, and ensure organizational adherence to them.
  • Manage relationships with external human capital vendors (e.g., recruitment agencies, rewards consultants).
  • Oversee administrative and procurement functions and ensure the fulfillment of both functions to the highest standards.
People:
  • Lead the development and mentoring of key HR staff.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the HR team regularly, coach, and provide opportunities for continuous learning and development.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
  • 15-20 years of relevant experience in a forward-thinking and driven HR environment.
  • At least 5 years as VP HR for a large company (over 500 employees), ideally in the aviation or airlines industry.
  • Experience in devising and introducing new procedures and processes for newly established companies.
  • Experience in setting overall HR strategy including organization design, policy development, skills, and career path development.
  • Experience in all aspects of recruitment and deployment of staff, with an increased focus on senior management.
  • Certification in various HR disciplines is preferable (e.g. CIPD, PHR, SPHR, GPHR).
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Economics, or a closely related field; a Masters degree is a plus.
