Be ready to make your mark a top company, in an exciting and dynamic industry JOB PURPOSE:Reporting to the SVP and Head of Regulatory Compliance, the main responsibilities of this role are to ensure that efforts are made to ascertain the bank is conforming to regulatory requirements as applicable. Responsibilities also include being responsible for the compliance risk assessment framework and methodology and risk and control self-assessment synergisation and facilitation for Compliance and the local and international units liaising with the wider Compliance function and other stakeholders as applicable.The role holder may from time to time be assigned to other managerial tasks within Compliance to support divisional requirements.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Build and maintain productive business relationships with Regulators and management across the regions, must have strong project management and risk assessment skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across the regions to effectively deliver frameworks, methodologies and policies.
  • Keep abreast of related rules, regulations and best practices, assess its impact on FAB and update the business and functions as applicable incorporating into the Compliance risk assessment framework
  • Govern and oversee the Compliance Policies & Procedures updates review covering the compliance risk assessment themes
Job ContextSupport the SVP and Head of Regulatory Compliance as follows:
  • Draft, govern and oversee compliance risk assessment related Compliance Policies, Procedures and framework. Update and review for the compliance risk assessment themes. Manage timely and adequate updates of compliance Policies & Procedures as per a Compliance Risk Assessment Framework.
  • Lead Group Compliance risk assessments for the Bank
  • Manage and oversee the timely execution, reporting and monitoring of the Compliance risk assessments group wide.
  • Support the reporting and oversight of compliance risk assessment actions
  • Manage, track and drive adherence to Compliance risk assessment related KPIs on behalf of Group Compliance & Regulatory Compliance Unit.
  • Enhance the process and target operating model for Compliance Risk Assessments
  • Support Regulatory Compliance unit in identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Assist the SVP and Head of Regulatory Compliance in other activities and initiatives as directed.
#LI-SD1QualificationsMinimum Qualification
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Higher in Management, Banking or Finance, preferably with certification in compliance, corporate governance, risk management or internal audit.
Minimum Experience and Required Skills
  • At least 10 years of business experience preferably in Compliance and/or Audit in Banks
  • Ability to understand and interpret global and local laws, rules and regulations and their applicability to business and functional activities with respect to Regulatory Compliance
  • Must have experience and understanding of Compliance risks and its implications on banking activities in addition to other key risks, i.e. market, credit, operational risks.
  • Excellent project management skills with strong control focus
  • Strong interpersonal, people management and facilitation skills with good leadership skills
  • Ability to generate ideas, think creatively, develop innovative solutions and build effective business relationships quickly
  • Team player, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines and manage a challenging workload
  • Preferably bilingual, Fluent in English and Arabic with strong written and verbal skills
  • Focused on driving tasks to completion with pace, whilst retaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Discrete and has sense of integrity and handles highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
