Job overview

General

We are looking for an outstanding Vice Principal - Early Excellence Centre (Nursery), Primo and Junior School to become an integral member of our Senior Leadership Team.

Our Story

Bloom World Academy was launched in August 2022 and educates children from ages 18 months to 18 years. The school has been hugely successful, so far, in challenging conventions and doing things differently in Dubai for the benefit of learners, families and teachers.

Every aspect of learning and teaching at Bloom World Academy has been considered - how we do it, why we do it and the impact it is having. This has directly led to many firsts for the UAE. BWA is the first school in UAE to start at 9am; the first school where each student and their family can choose their own timetable (learning pathways), and a school where each student has a Learning Achievement Passport (LAP) - where the performance and progress is shared with the student and family each month.

Most of all, BWA is a school which puts family life first - we encourage parents to be in school, even work from school in our community cafe, attend regular workshops and to join our weekly, celebratory community forums.

Our approach has been successful, we are exceeding all expectations, and therefore wish and need to appoint likeminded individuals with the right 'fit' to join our growing community.

Strategic Direction and Development of the School

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team in driving the mission and vision of the school, setting very high expectations for all students, and creating an environment where every one of them can be 'First, Best and Different'.
• Set aims and objectives for the school and formulate the School Improvement Plan, in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, governors and other senior staff.
• Lead the school self-review and evaluation process, as well as effective planning and management of resources to drive school improvements in the EEC, Primo and Junior phase of education.

Learning and Teaching

• Be an 'outstanding' role model and act as a leading classroom practitioner, helping to develop the quality of learning and teaching across EEC, Primo and the Junior School.
• Lead on the evaluation and development of learning and teaching across EEC, Primo and the Junior School.
• Lead the approach to assessment and reporting across Primo and the Junior School.
• Coordinate and lead all standardised testing.
• Work in partnership with parents to educate them about our school's approach to assessment including key standardised assessments (NGRT, CAT4 and PASS) and understanding our reporting system.
• Lead the analysis of data in Primo and the Junior School, supporting teachers to triangulate internal and external data sources, as well as triangulating with other key sources such as the Learning Achievement Passport.
• Lead the coordination and implementation of our Personal Pathways approach across Primo and the Junior School.

Leading and Managing Staff

• Work with the leadership team to lead, motivate, support, challenge and develop all staff to secure continual improvement including their own continual professional development.
• Lead on the monitoring and development of learning and teaching and our commitment to academic improvement.
• Share in whole school data analysis to determine how well the school is performing and assist with target setting as appropriate.
• Lead on Performance Management of teaching staff in EEC, Primo and the Junior School.
• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver an appropriate programme of professional development for all staff including quality coaching and mentoring, in line with the school improvement plan and performance management.

Deploying Staff and Resources

• Lead on the deployment of people and resources efficiently and effectively i.e. timetables, deployment of assistants and supply staff.
• Lead on recruitment and selection of new staff in EEC, Primo and the Junior School.

Specific Responsibilities

• Take a major role in the day-to-day running of the school, attending daily and weekly meetings and leading them as required.
• Contribute to a positive ethos for learning.
• Promote the values and achievements of the school to the community.
• Take a lead in the efficient organisation, management, and supervision of school routines.
• Implement policies on equality issues for all staff and students.
• Support the Senior Leadership Team and Governors in annual budget planning and monitoring.

Personal Attributes, Experience and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates must be:

• An effective and dynamic leader with a proven track record in sustained school improvement that can be demonstrated through hard data.
• Understanding and appreciation of early years education
• Understanding and knowledge of IB Primary Years Programme
• Knowledge of, and experience in, the leading assessment across a phase of the school.
• Rigorous in promoting excellence and developing commitment to high standards of care and opportunities for all.
• Knowledge of, and experience in, the deployment and timetabling of staff.
• Able to demonstrate success in leading and managing staff, including promoting and developing innovative approaches to learning.
• Experienced in developing teachers' skills and competencies through a sustained school improvement model such as coaching.
• Able to demonstrate a comprehensive and confident knowledge of best practice pedagogy from Pre-KG to Grade 5 (with direct experience in KG2 - Grade 2).
• Able to demonstrate a desire to be innovative and creative in the provision offered for BWA learners to ensure all can succeed.
• Able to demonstrate a commitment to inclusion.
• Able to demonstrate genuine passion towards the wider co-curricular life of a school.

•Bloom World Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the students and staff in our care and expects all applicants to share this commitment. We hold ourselves to a high standard of effective safer recruiting practices with specific attention to child protection. All appointments are subject to application, qualification, identity and criminal record checks, as well as the presentation of positive references.•

•? All appointments are subject to the approval of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization.•
