About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Utility Design Manager to lead the design and coordination of utilities for large civil infrastructure projects in Dubai. This role will involve overseeing the design of utility networks, including water, power, telecommunications, and drainage, ensuring integration with broader project plans and compliance with local regulations and standards.

As the Utility Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of utility design, liaising with internal teams, contractors, and external authorities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of utilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled design professional with experience in large-scale infrastructure projects to make a significant impact on landmark developments in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the utility design process, ensuring that designs meet project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and utility service providers to ensure seamless integration of utility networks into the overall project design.
• Develop and review utility design plans, including water supply, sewage, stormwater drainage, electricity, gas, and telecommunications systems.
• Ensure all utility designs comply with local regulatory requirements and international best practices.
• Manage approvals and permits related to utility designs from relevant authorities and stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve potential conflicts between utility infrastructure and other elements of the project design.
• Monitor progress of utility design deliverables and manage any required revisions to meet project milestones.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the construction teams during the project execution phase.
• Liaise with government authorities and utility service providers to ensure coordination of connections, relocations, and commissioning of utility services.
• Ensure all utility designs are completed with a focus on sustainability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in utility design, with at least 5 years working on large civil infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of utility design standards, regulatory requirements, and local authority processes in the UAE.
• Proven experience in coordinating multiple utility services, including water, drainage, electrical, and telecommunications networks.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple design packages and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and authorities.
• Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other utility design tools.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
