Mission
The Senior Maintenance Engineer leads and oversees various aspects of asset maintenance within engineering consulting projects. This role involves managing project technical documentation, developing asset registers, implementing CMMS templates, creating maintenance plans, and workload planning. The senior engineer utilises mechanical handling software such as Autocad, Navisworks, SmartPlant, and MS Office to execute tasks efficiently. The incumbent is responsible for providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring the successful execution of assigned tasks and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key Accountabilities
Project Technical Documentation Management
Lead the management of project technical documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards.
Provide guidance to junior engineers in organizing and maintaining documentation for easy accessibility and retrieval.
Review and approve technical documentation to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
Asset Register Development
Lead the development and maintenance of asset registers for client projects, ensuring accurate recording of asset information.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers in capturing and updating asset information in asset registers.
Ensure alignment of asset registers with project objectives and client needs.
CMMS Templates Development and Implementation
Design and develop customized Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) templates, leveraging expertise in asset maintenance management.
Lead the implementation of CMMS templates, ensuring effective utilization for maintenance management activities.
Mentor junior engineers in customizing CMMS templates to meet specific project requirements.
Maintenance Plan and Workload Planning
Develop comprehensive maintenance plans and conduct workload planning to optimize maintenance activities and resources.
Provide guidance to junior engineers in developing maintenance plans aligned with project timelines and objectives.
Ensure efficient allocation of resources for maintenance activities to meet project requirements.
Utilization of Mechanical Handling Software and MS Office
Utilize mechanical handling software (Autocad, Navisworks, SmartPlant) and MS Office applications proficiently to support asset maintenance activities.
Mentor junior engineers in effectively using software tools for project-related tasks, providing technical guidance and support.
Stay updated with advancements in software tools and technologies relevant to asset maintenance engineering.
Leadership and Mentorship
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guiding them in executing assigned tasks and developing skills in asset maintenance engineering.
Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning among team members.
Serve as a technical resource and point of contact for project-related inquiries and issues.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering
Qualifications
Extensive +8 years experience in asset maintenance management, preferably in an engineering consulting environment.
Proficiency in mechanical handling software (Autocad, Navisworks, SmartPlant) and MS Office.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Thorough understanding of relevant standards and regulations in asset maintenance engineering.
