Our Transport Team is growing in UAE , we have an opportunity for a Transport Engineer with a drive to provide support and technical delivery in our Civil Infrastructure Team.

What does the role look like?

• Work in a team environment providing transportation investigation, design and assessment for internal and external clients
• Support delivery of transportation projects from investigation through to design and construction and design management of civil elements
• We try and go above and beyond for our clients, thinking as a leading extension of their team, so you'll be supporting through your sound technical and operational advice, and through your professional curiosity for that 'better way
• We have a 'leaders everywhere' approach, so just as we want you to keep growing and developing your skills and experience with the support of the wider team, we'd love it for you to share your ideas and flair with us too
• Provide mentoring and support to less experienced staff with regard to technical skill development and day-to-day overseeing of workload.
• Supply to GHD projects in other urban design and transport planning fields
• Collaborate with team members in preparing bids, proposals for business development
• Support wider business development initiatives and raise the profile of GHD through high standards of project delivery

Essential Skills and Experience: The candidate should demonstrate the following attributes through their past experience:


• A solid understanding of the fundamental principles of transport planning and modeling, enabling them to conduct and support transport modeling, master planning, and impact studies.
• Familiarity with key project controls, including experience in handling small to medium-sized commissions.
• Adaptability to manage a diverse workload, contribute to new business opportunities, and stay proactively updated on developments in their chosen technical area of interest.
• An innovative and problem-solving approach to consultancy, aimed at benefiting our clients and fostering strong client relationships.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently to address challenges.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proactive and self-motivated, with a commitment to making a valuable contribution.
• A keen interest in the sector, with a proactive approach to staying informed about technical advancements and policy changes.
• Proficiency in managing planning studies, development applications, and reviews.
• Experience in developing plans, studies, and analyses.
• Desirable familiarity with industry-standard software such as Cube Voyager, PTV Visum, PTV Vissim, SIDRA, Synchro, and HCS+.
• Conducts field inspections to collect data relevant to the development review process and to verify compliance with approved plans.
• Proficient in creating, handling, and manipulating large datasets using MS Excel.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical issues concisely to both the team and clients.
• A sound understanding of Project Management techniques.
• Capable of coordinating, managing, and supervising the workloads of junior colleagues.
• A collaborative approach to project work, facilitating the coordination of resources and driving project delivery to meet client expectations and project outcomes.

Additional Information:


• Experience profile: 4+ years of experience in transportation engineering and planning.

Qualifications:


• Professional Membership: Membership of a professional institution or society such as CIHT, ICE, or TPS.
• Eligibility for chartership, certification, or licensure from a recognized professional body (e.g., P.E., P.Eng., CEng, Chartered Transport Planner, or equivalent) is preferred.
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field is mandatory.


Desirable Skills and Experience: Experience with road safety engineering and audits
