: BASIC FUNCTION Provides training and support to U.A.E. National Developees on the job site regarding Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument maintenance and administers procedures for verification of Competencies as per Development Programs.WORK PERFORMED Guides the Developees to examine faulty equipment to determine scope and requirement, obtain necessary tools and spare parts and proceed to work site to carry out the maintenance job. Trains the Developees on how to carry out skilled faultfinding, diagnosis and defect repair indicated by regular predictive checks, or failures of equipment reported by Operational personnel. Includes checking equipment to locate faults, determining the faults and the appropriate method of repair and carrying out or directing repair work such as dismantling, assembling, replacement, and repair of defective equipment and components. Instructs Developees in carrying out predictive and preventive maintenance checks and tests on running equipment and machinery. Includes taking correct measurements of clearance, tolerance and alignment within acceptable limits using a wide range of precision instruments such as laser optic equipment, gauges and technometers. Determines, in conjunction with Supervisor, where and when major equipment or sub-assemblies have to be removed to the workshop for major repairs or overhaul, and schedules Developees to participate in these activities. Schedules Developees to participate in new installations, modifications and testing of equipment through various stages. Runs offload and on-stream tests to ensure proper operation, assures himself of correct alignment, checks temperature readings at each stage and hands over repaired unit to operations personnel. Compiles task books, with measurable objectives for tasks, and updates as required. Maintains Training files and prepares monthly progress reports on Developees. Provides feedback to Training Unit and Administration Department as necessary. Provides required Training and knowledge to the Developees as per the Career Development Program. Complies with all safety and fire rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment, and ensures that all trainees working in his area comply with safety regulations.
