Job Description

The Traffic Engineer plays a critical role in designing, analysing, and implementing traffic systems to ensure safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation.

The job involves the following responsibilities and qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

1. Traffic Analysis and Modelling:

• Conduct traffic studies and analysed data to assess traffic flow, congestion, and safety.
• Use traffic simulation software to model and predict traffic patterns and potential bottlenecks.
• Collect data on current road usage, traffic density, and accident rates.
• The traffic studies.

2. Design and Planning:

• Design roadways, intersections, and traffic control systems (e.g., signals, signs, and road markings).
• Develop strategies to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety.
• Plan and implement pedestrian and bicycle-friendly infrastructure.

3. Traffic Control Systems:

• Evaluate and design traffic signal timing, coordination, and synchronization.
• Recommend traffic management solutions, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
• Monitor and optimize traffic control systems, making real-time adjustments as necessary.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure that designs and implementations comply with local, state, and national regulations and standards.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments and implement eco-friendly traffic solutions.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Work with government agencies, contractors, and community stakeholders to communicate traffic plans and gather input.
• Address public concerns related to traffic safety and congestion.

6. Safety Analysis and Improvement:

• Identify and analysed accident-prone areas and implement solutions to enhance safety.
• Design and oversee installation of safety features, such as speed bumps, crosswalks, and roundabouts.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, specialist in Traffic Engineering, A Master's degree or specialized training in transportation or traffic engineering is advantaged.
• Experience: 10+ years in relevant projects in the traffic engineering, transportation planning, out of which at least (2) years in Dubai project.
• Qualified of RTA is Preferred.

Skills:

• Proficiency in traffic simulation and modelling software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, HCS).
• Strong knowledge of traffic engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Analytical skills to interpret traffic data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills to present findings to stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) License or eligibility to obtain it.
• Certified Traffic Operations Engineer (CTOE) is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent
Contract length: 24 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
