Description:
The Head Chef is responsible for using their culinary expertise to create appetizing dishes for restaurant guests to enjoy. Their duties include overseeing kitchen staff, ensuring quality and restocking food produce as needed.
Responsibilities:
Set-up menus, study recipes and prepare high-quality meals
Ensure that all prepared dishes are presented in an aesthetically pleasing way that is consistent with the restaurant’s brand identity
Oversee back-of-house staff to ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner
Delegate tasks to back-of-house staff to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant
Adapt recipes to cater for guests’ specific requests
Co-ordinate with barista and mixologist to ensure a memorable guest experience
Maintain sufficient levels of ingredients in inventory
Compile daily reports to monitor inventory usage
Ensure the quality of ingredients received from suppliers
Liaise with management and suppliers to ensure optimal pricing and delivery
Assist with recruitment and training of new back-of-house staff
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Work with management to continuously promote the restaurant in new and exciting ways
Ensure that kitchen equipment is well maintained
Requirements:
Open to females only
Must have experience working in the GCC
Must be able to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment
Must have experience working in up-market hospitality
Must be able to work under pressure and solve problems on-the-go
Formal culinary training preferred
Must be fluent in English, Arabic would be a plus
