Description:
The mixologist cum barista will be responsible for running the drinks section of the restaurant, ensuring that the beverage operation runs smoothly. She will prepare both hot and cold beverages, including coffees, teas, mocktails and juices. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with specialty coffee as well as having thorough knowledge of cocktail/ mocktail recipes. She will be working with the restaurant manager and head chef to prepare special drinks menus and flavor pairing options.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and continuously revise the beverage menu
Prepare and serve hot and cold beverages such as coffee, tea, milkshakes and mocktails
Recommend and up-sell menu items to guests
Ensure that each beverage served is well presented and prepared according to the restaurant’s standards
Manage inventory of all relevant materials and ingredients
Check the quality of relevant ingredients received from suppliers
Ensure the proper maintenance of all relevant equipment
Compile daily reports of items sold
Co-ordinate with the relevant staff to continuously promote the restaurant
Requirements:
Must have knowledge of specialty coffees and teas and preparation thereof
Must have knowledge of cocktails, mocktails and juices.
Must have experience working as a barista and/or in a bar setting
Must be able to come up with new recipe and menu ideas
Must have experience working in the GCC and upmarket hospitality industry
Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure
Must be fluent in English, Arabic would be a plus
Must be able to work well in a multi-cultural environment
