The Social Media Specialist will play a key role in supporting the social media team for a temporary period of 4 months, focusing on the execution of strategic social media initiatives across posts, engaging with the community and reporting key metrics to ensure consistent brand visibility and engagement.The social media specialist will collaborate closely with a team of student workers, as well as event and social media coordinators across various departments, ensuring that all social media content aligns with the universitys voice.During this time the social media specialist will also monitor social media trends and report on key metrics, providing insights that contribute to maintaining brand consistency and engagement.In this position, the social media specialist will report to the social media manager, working to support the institutions overall communications objectives.Job Responsibilities
Create, curate and schedule engaging content for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
Monitor and respond to audience endearment in timely and appropriate manner.
Assist in executing social media campaigns, including paid promotions.
Track and report on the platform on social media posts and campaigns.
Collaborate with internal teams (Creative, Content, and event) to ensure cohesive branding.
Support in covering live event across campus.
Qualifications and Skills Required
Bachelors degree in related field: Marketing/ Communications/ any other related fields.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in managing social media accounts for business or organizations.
Proficiency in using social media management tools (e.g. Hubspot, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
Strong writing and content creation skills.
Ability to extract and analyze social media metrics and create performance reports.
Knowledge of social media trends and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Masters degree in digital marketing or related field.
Certificate in social media marketing.
Experience working in Higher Education or non-profit sector.
