The Applied and Experiential Learning Department is inviting nominations and applications for the position of Senior Backend/Full Stack Developer - GPT-Based Intelligent Tutoring System. Reporting to the Academic Manager of Applied & Experiential Learning Department, the incumbent will be in charge of leading the development of an advanced Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) powered by GPT-based AI technologies. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining a scalable and robust platform that delivers personalized educational experiences to students. Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will Design and develop an intelligent tutoring system (ITS) ensuring scalability, performance, and security. The successful candidate will implement and integrate GPT-based AI models to provide personalized tutoring experiences and develop and maintain server-side logic, databases, and APIs to support the ITS functionalities. The successful candidate needs to Collaborate with educational technologists to integrate the ITS with existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) to enable content customization and contextualization, enhancing the personalized learning experience. The ideal candidate will create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for system architecture, APIs, and development processes. The successful candidate will Mentor junior developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Technical Competencies: Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js. Experience with frontend technologies like React, Angular, or Vue.js. Strong understanding of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases. Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, adhering to best practices for performance and security. Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, or AWS, or GCP, including deployment and management of applications. Proficiency in containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) integration and standards such as SCORM, xAPI, or LTI. Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in backend or full stack development, with a proven track record in building scalable web applications.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English language is required Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred
