Main Purpose of the Job The primary purpose of the Technician - Elevators & Escalators position is to provide technical expertise in the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevators and escalators within an organization. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of elevator and escalator systems, diagnosing and resolving issues, and performing necessary maintenance and repair tasks. Main Competencies required for the Position The main competencies required for the job position of Technician - Elevators & Escalators are: Technical expertise and knowledge of elevator and escalator systems, including various types of equipment, controls, and safety features. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to elevator and escalator systems. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings. Proficiency in using specialized tools, equipment, and software related to elevator and escalator systems. Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Main Duties / Responsibilities The main duties and responsibilities of the job position of Technician - Elevators & Escalators are: Installing, maintaining, and repairing elevator and escalator systems. Conducting inspections and diagnostic tests to identify issues and malfunctions. Troubleshooting and resolving problems related to elevator and escalator systems. Repairing or replacing faulty components or parts. Conducting preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair activities. Collaborating with other technicians and team members to complete projects and resolve technical issues. Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Providing technical guidance and support to other team members or end-users. Staying updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to elevator and escalator systems. Minimum qualifications / educational levels required for this position High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a relevant technical training program or apprenticeship in elevator and escalator systems. Relevant certifications in elevator and escalator maintenance and repair are advantageous. Selection Criteria Knowledge and experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of elevator and escalator systems. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.

Proficiency in using specialized tools, equipment, and software related to elevator and escalator systems. Special Conditions Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts, as required. Adherence to safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces. Travel may be required based on project location.
