:Wood is currently looking for a Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Sharjah, UAEResponsibilities:Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:
Achieving project completion to the project specifications on schedule.
Being accountable for the quality of Technical Safety deliverables.
Providing Technical Safety guidance to the team
Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team.
Participating in audits and incident investigations as required
Executing assigned scopes of work.
Supporting and supervising task delegation to the team.
Providing discipline expertise to the business.
Participating and if required Chair project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops when required.
Providing sound technical advice and solutions to various technical problems within the discipline.
Co-ordinating with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
Providing technical support to the site as required.
Lead and manage the Technical Safety discipline team.
Foster a culture of lateral learning and knowledge sharing within the project.
Develop and execute team development objectives.
Ensure compliance with project Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Participate in audits, incident investigations, and Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
Maintain expertise in Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software, and design practices.
Stay updated on regulatory frameworks, legislation, and industry developments.
Provide expert knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
Ability to Chair HAZOP, HAZID workshops
Coordinate SIL Classification studies, and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA).
Perform Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modelling as required.
Perform Hazard Assessment and what if analysis.
Provide planning, cost, and schedule data as required.
Supervise task delegation to team members.
Manage third-party suppliers for engineering delivery.

Subject Matter Expertise:
Maintain expertise in Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software, and design practices.
Stay updated on regulatory frameworks, legislation, and industry developments.
Provide expert knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA).
Ability to Chair HAZOP, HAZID workshops
Coordinate SIL Classification studies, and Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA).

Qualifications:
BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience.
Chartered Engineer or recognized equivalent experience
Experience working on the concept, FEED and Executing project phases
Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position
Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry with Proven capability in Technical Safety Design Engineering
Previous experience of site-based project work involving field engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance would be an advantage
Experience of working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
