A Marine Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical operations and maintenance of a fleet of vessels, ensuring their compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing their performance. Below are required job responsibilities:
1. Vessel Maintenance and Repair
• Ensure all vessels in the fleet are maintained to the highest standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise repairs and dry-docking activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues onboard vessels.
2. Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure all vessels comply with international, regional, and local maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code).
• Maintain up-to-date certifications and surveys for all vessels.
3. Budget Management
• Develop and manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, and technical operations.
• Monitor costs and seek ways to optimize expenditures without compromising safety or quality.
• Completing successfully Dry Docking of the vessel in the given budget by the management.
4. Spare Parts and Inventory
• Manage the procurement of spare parts, equipment, and supplies for the vessels.
• Maintain an inventory system to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
• Manage and maintain critical spare parts requirement onboard for surveys and work closely on it with CE of the respective vessels.
5. Crew Support
• Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews.
• Take interview for technical positions i.e., Chief Engr. & 2nd Engr. & activating them once they join the duty.
• Ensure the technical training and development of crew members as needed.
6. Performance Monitoring
• Monitor and optimize vessel performance, including fuel efficiency and machinery reliability.
• Implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions.
7. Incident Management
• Investigate technical failures or accidents onboard vessels.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
8. Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain detailed reports & records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Prepare technical reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Checking and reporting R.O.B of all the fleet to the management on a regular basis.
9. Project Management
• Oversee new-build projects, vessel modifications, or upgrades.
• Make plan, arrange, assign & mobilize the team on site as per the requirement or scope of the work.
• Coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, classification societies, flags including ISM & ISPS compliance.
10. Communication
• Liaise with owners, charterers, insurers, and regulatory bodies regarding vessel technical matters.
• Act as the technical point of contact for external and internal stakeholders.
• Actively participating in all the groups including email correspondence with relevant authorities.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: AED20,000.00 - AED25,000.00 per month
