The Technical Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and ensuring the effective execution of maintenance activities within an organization or facility. This role involves supervising maintenance teams, managing schedules, and ensuring that all equipment and systems are maintained in good working condition to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership and Supervision
• Lead, train, and manage a team of maintenance technicians and workers.
• Assign daily tasks and ensure timely completion.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives and address challenges.
• Maintenance Planning and Scheduling
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments to minimize disruption.
• Prioritize urgent and emergency repairs.
• Technical Oversight
• Perform inspections of machinery, tools, and systems to ensure operational safety and efficiency.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues, providing guidance to the team.
• Oversee the repair or replacement of malfunctioning equipment.
• Compliance and Safety
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety training sessions and enforce safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of safety incidents and corrective actions.
• Inventory and Resource Management
• Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, spare parts, and materials.
• Coordinate with procurement for timely ordering of necessary items.
• Ensure proper usage and storage of tools and equipment.
• Reporting and Documentation
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including costs, downtime, and repairs.
• Prepare regular maintenance performance reports for management.
• Recommend improvements or upgrades to systems and equipment.
• Budget Management
• Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget.
• Monitor expenses to ensure they align with financial goals.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Qualifications:
• Education: Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.
• Experience with managing large teams and complex maintenance operations.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC.
• Proficient in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
