The mission of the Technical Leader is to deliver telecommunication projects according to customer specifications, cost, quality & time constraints.
The candidate will act as the technical lead, as well as an individual contributor. Technical Leader role is to plan, coordinate & organize the complete technical work packages including Telecom system & Power supply in the electrical substations. This responsibility covers all project phases from contract award up to the end of the project (Provisional acceptance).
Technical Leader will be involved in a dynamic market with technologies that are in constant evolution such as Optical Transport Networking (SDH/PDH, MPLS TP/IP, etc.), Industrial wireless, Tele protection Systems, Rooter and switch, Powerline carriers.
Roles and Responsibilities : Prepare & participate to the technical transfer in-between Tender / Operation Participate with Project Manager to the project kick off and define the execution strategy, the split of work, responsibility matrix, etc. Be the technical interface with the customer, external suppliers and all internal project team members (Project Manager, Field Service Engineer, Purchase dpt, design office Marketing and R&D) Define and validate the project documentation structure Coordinate site survey activities, analyze & broadcast survey results to technical teams Define or validate the technical Specification & scope of work for Telecom system Define and validate the Telecom architecture, prepare the basic and detailed design in coordination with other parties involved in the project Prepare the appropriate equipment purchase order request, follow up the purchase order & equipment delivery Share the appropriate information with the design office & control the integration / installation drawings delivery Prepare with Field Service Engineering team the Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests Define the FAT & SAT procedures, providing appropriate information for site and giving technical support when required Organize regular meetings with technical team to safeguard project delivery as per the defined milestones, with state-of-the-art quality and within the budget Control the design budget (man-days & subcontractors) and report/anticipate any variation Identify & follow-up the technical risks/opportunities & define the associated action plans Solve or/and escalate technical issues Participate & contribute to the Project Reviews with Project Managers Define technical offers for new extension & Variation Orders Prepare & participate to return of experience meeting with Commercial team
Required Qualifications Telecom Engineering BSc degree or relevant educational background Minimum 5 years in the design, engineering and implementation of telecommunication networks Mastering Telecom technologies (Optical transport Technology (MPLS, SDH, PDH), IP (routers, switches, firewalls, etc.) Proficiency in English, French are mandatory and other languages are nice to have Practical knowledge of one or more equipment from renowned manufacturers, manufacturer certification would be a plus Strong interpersonal skills and stake holder management No obstacle to travel Knowledge of project management principles (budget, milestones, schedule)
