Job Overview

We are looking for a Technical Engineer with expertise in vehicle diagnostic devices to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, testing, and technical support of diagnostic equipment used for vehicle maintenance and repair. You will work closely with product development teams and customers to ensure that diagnostic tools meet industry standards, improve service efficiency, and provide accurate vehicle diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

: Provide technical support to customers and service teams for troubleshooting vehicle issues using diagnostic equipment. Analyze data from diagnostic devices to identify and resolve complex vehicle malfunctions, error codes, and system anomalies. Developing new functions for the existing device, and logging file for more support.

Software and Firmware Development

: Collaborate with software engineers to develop user-friendly diagnostic software interfaces for technicians and end-users. Write and update firmware for diagnostic devices, ensuring proper communication with vehicle ECUs and systems.

Vehicle System Knowledge

: Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in vehicle technologies, including electrical systems, sensors, ECUs, and onboard diagnostic protocols (OBD-II, CAN bus). Implement diagnostic protocols and ensure compatibility with a wide range of vehicle makes, models, and years.

Testing and Validation

: Perform testing and validation of diagnostic equipment to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards. Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot device performance in real-world vehicle conditions.

Customer Training and Documentation

: Create technical manuals, guides, and training materials for both internal teams and customers on the proper usage of diagnostic tools. Provide training sessions or webinars to educate users on the features and capabilities of diagnostic equipment.

Continuous Improvement

: Monitor device performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary upgrades. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to integrate into diagnostic tools, improving accuracy, speed, and ease of use.

Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background

: Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills

: Experience in developing diagnostic devices, tools, or systems for the automotive industry. Knowledge of OBD-II protocols, CAN bus systems, and automotive communication standards. Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and firmware development. Proficiency with diagnostic software development tools and platforms. Experience with automotive data analysis and vehicle fault code interpretation.

Key Competencies

: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex automotive issues. Excellent communication skills for liaising with technical teams and providing customer support. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and reliability. Ability to adapt to new technologies and rapidly changing automotive standards.

Preferred Experience:

Hands-on experience with vehicle diagnostic devices, scanners, or tools (e.g., AUTEL, TOPDON, MAGIC MOTORSPORTS and LAUNCH). Knowledge of specific vehicle brands or OEM diagnostic systems. Familiarity with automotive repair and maintenance procedures.
