Job Summary:
The Technical Engineer is responsible for reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, preparing detailed submittals, and method statements while ensuring compliance with local regulations. They facilitate effective communication by handling Requests for Information (RFIs) and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes. Conducting site inspections, monitoring progress, and proposing solutions are integral to their role, along with staying updated on emerging technologies and construction techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Reviewing and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
• Preparing and submitting detailed engineering drawings, submittals, and method statements in accordance with project requirements and deadlines.
• Handling Requests for Information (RFIs) promptly and effectively, facilitating clear communication and resolution of technical queries between project stakeholders.
• Developing and implementing construction methodologies, ensuring efficient and safe execution of project activities in compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Conducting site inspections and assessments to monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and propose effective solutions to maintain project schedule and quality standards.
• Collaborating closely with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate construction activities, resolve technical challenges, and optimize project outcomes.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance during project meetings, presenting proposals, and addressing stakeholders' concerns to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies, materials, and construction techniques to enhance project efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.
• Ensuring strict adherence to project budgets, timelines, and quality control measures, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
• Liaising with regulatory authorities and obtaining necessary approvals and permits to comply with local building codes and regulations in Dubai.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
• At least 5 years Proven experience in building construction projects, particularly in UAE.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software applications for engineering design and documentation.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and building codes in UAE.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
