The Technical & Application Manager supports our Beauty & Care business in •Africa, Middle East and Turkey• mainly, within the Beauty & Care European and AMET (EMEA) Business Development & Marketing team in coordination with the Sales team, aligned with the regional BU strategy. This support may be extended to Europe upon needs of the organization. Continuous innovation is required for direct/indirect customer support. The Technical & Application Manager needs in collaboration with the Business Development, Sales and Marketing teams, to support and develop new businesses, delivering incremental growth and profitability via strong, effective and profitable relationships with customers and excellent communication and collaboration internally.

Your key responsibilities

• Be responsible for customer technical requests related to our Beauty & Care portfolio (UV filters, bioactives, vitamins and technical & performance ingredients), evaluation of products and reporting back to customers.
• Elaborate with the Marketing team some promotional documents (eg. presentation, brochure), participate to technical seminars & webinars and develop new prototypes of cosmetics formulation.
• Visit customers for support aligned with the sales team.
• Maintain up-to-date test methods specific to cosmetic applications.
• Identify technologies in area of science as needed and makes them accessible for use in projects or business support.
• Execute formulation work to support customer product development, stability evaluation, product characterization.
• Provide deep technical know-how and training to the Sales force.
• Track competitive intelligence respecting dsm-firmenich Quality and SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements and other relevant standards.

•The deep understanding of regional consumer and customer needs, additionally with excellent technical skills is crucial for the success of this position•

You bring

• Masters or Bachelors of Science in applied chemistry and cosmetology, or related fields to cosmetics technologies
• Minimum of five years of experience in product development in the lab, and technical customer support experience
• Broad knowledge in personal care applications
• High interest in laboratory experiments and creative problem solving
• Willing to travel to Africa, Middle East, and European countries.
• Self-Driven and Self-Organized (including Self-Management)
• Able to work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary team, managing multiple stakeholders
• Fluent in English and Arabic
