• Experience developing strategies and implementation plans that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
• 10 + years of experience negotiating, coordinating, and deploying career, workforce or technical education programs in public or private education systems at a state or national level in partnership with industry providers, vendors, and/or employers.
• Demonstrated experience in working with IT industry training programs and certification offerings, and related workforce readiness projects or initiatives.
• Experience, across functional and technical areas, designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale programmes.
• Relevant experience in education leadership, workforce development or public policy roles

AWS Worldwide Public Sector is looking for an innovative, driven MENA leader , helping to ensure that learners at every stage of their journey are well-prepared to enter the technical workforce. The role is part of the Global Education Skills to Jobs team and focuses on helping learners and educators across the world build their cloud knowledge and skills to pave the way for future careers. The Skills to Jobs MENA lead will lead collaborative efforts between education institutions adoption of technical training content and industry partners workforce development.
You will build geo strategy and lead program implementations at scale by coordinating and amplifying the efforts of multiple AWS skills development programs, education systems (secondary and post-secondary), whilst engaging industry partners, government (e.g. ministries), and intermediary organizations with the goal to increase the number of cloud and emerging technology trained graduates.
Key job responsibilities
• Actively research and understand the economic development and workforce needs, challenges, and goals of MENA region.
• Build and maintain trusted customer relationships with senior government officials in the workforce and education agencies/ministries of their assigned territory, as well as education providers, faculty in partnership with the local and global AWS teams
• Successfully identify and implement education and workforce skills development programs (Tech Alliances), gather feedback to inform ongoing programme improvements
• Develop a pipeline of regionwide, statewide, or countrywide workforce development initiatives, evangelizing workforce and education program offerings whilst aligning with local country, regional growth strategy.
• Facilitate regional planning and implementation, including needs assessments, strategic planning, localization, and progress monitoring, whilst managing program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines
• Capture insights and best practices to enhance the model, with an emphasis on efficiency and scale.
