Role Overview

As a Tech Lead / Engineering Manager, you will architect, build, and scale the AI-driven backend of Baguette while leading a team of eight or more engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, and performance while pushing the boundaries of AI, automation, and DevOps.

This role requires a strong technical leader who can write code, make architectural decisions, and mentor a team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments and is comfortable working with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Own the architecture and scalability of Baguette's AI-driven platform. Drive Python-based AI models, Laravel for backend, and DevOps automation. Lead end-to-end software development, ensuring best practices in code quality, security, and maintainability. Oversee CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments (AWS/GCP), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Kubernetes).

AI & Machine Learning

Integrate LLMs and AI models into Baguette for predictive analytics, automation, and smart workflows. Optimize data pipelines and AI inference engines for real-time decision-making.

Team & Project Management

Lead a team of eight or more engineers across backend, AI, and DevOps. Foster a high-performance engineering culture, mentorship, and continuous learning. Collaborate with Product, UX, and business teams to align technology with strategy. Break down complex projects into sprints, roadmaps, and technical milestones.

DevOps & Infrastructure

Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security of the platform. Oversee Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines for rapid deployments. Implement observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, ELK) to monitor system health.

What We're Looking For

Eight or more years of software engineering experience (Python, Laravel, DevOps). Three or more years leading teams of eight or more engineers (Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar). Strong AI/ML knowledge (LLMs, NLP, TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI API). Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and microservices architecture. Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Kubernetes, Terraform, and security best practices. Experience in fast-paced SaaS, B2B, or ERP/Business OS platforms. A problem solver with an obsession for performance, scalability, and AI-powered automation.
