Job Description

MAIN OBJECTIVE OF ROLETo oversee the analysis, monitoring, and control of costs within the IT department and across the business departments, while also actively contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes pertaining to all IT expenditures.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts detailed monthly analysis comparing budgeted IT costs to actual expenditures to pinpoint cost drivers and areas for improvement, collaborating with business units and IT teams to ensure costs savings planned are achieved throughout the year.
  • Assists in preparing and monitoring departmental budgets and forecasts, analyzing budget variances, delivering precise and timely reports to management, and identifying both risks and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensures cost-saving opportunities by analyzing current processes, procedures, and systems with recommendations on process improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs, while maintaining quality standards.
  • Enforces the management direction on Opex and Capex cost contribution ratio from flydubai resources and development partner resources to reduce the Opex costs and contribute more towards Capex delivery across all LOBs.
  • Coordinates with procurement department to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and manage vendor costs.
  • Evaluates vendor costs and seek alternatives to achieve cost reduction objectives.
  • Ensures follow up on Purchase Requests raising & Purchase Order releases to vendors and timely payments to vendors.
  • Ensure regular service reviews, enforce service credits and other contractual obligations with all IT vendors.
  • Manages the monitor and control on costs against budgeted targets by ensuring accurate and detailed cost reports, including cost center analysis, and variance analysis and communicates findings and provide insights to management to drive cost-conscious decision-making.
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Units, Procurement, and Finance, to ensure cost management initiatives align with overall business objectives and budgets to support the implementation of cost control measures.
  • Develops and maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the cost savings achieved year on year and reports on the prorated costs savings monthly based on the prorated budgets and spends on Opex / Capex costs across IT and other Business units.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to cost management to support internal and external audit processes by providing relevant cost-related documentation and explanations.
  • Seeks opportunities proactively for process optimization and operational efficiency to achieve cost reductions within IT and Business units.
  • Maintains effective communication with internal stakeholders, including IT teams, Procurement, Finance, and Business Units, to achieve organizational objectives on costs management.
