Tax Manager - Middle East
The Corporate Tax department is looking for a new member to assist with the company's growing tax requirements in the Middle East region. This is a diverse role, covering provisions, compliance and advisory responsibilities. The Tax Manager - Middle East will be a key contact to the business interacting with finance, legal, treasury and project personnel around the globe, in addition to external advisors.


The position will be based in KBR's offices in Dubai, U.A.E. Flexible working can be discussed.

Job responsibilities:

• Management of all Middle East regional tax matters.
• Provision of tax advice on proposals and contract reviews including technical research and planning and liaison with sales and law department colleagues.
• Review of quarterly tax provisions (US GAAP reporting) for Middle East entities; coordinate with finance department colleagues; review and/or maintain internal controls documentation; documentation and maintenance of uncertain tax positions.
• Review of local country tax returns including monitoring compliance with meeting deadlines
• Management of local country tax audits in partnership with external advisers.
• Management of tax issues relating to acquisitions, disposals, liquidations and special projects.
• Interacting with internal colleagues in financial accounting, legal and other global tax team members on a regular basis.
• Management of Middle East VAT matters and initiatives.
• Integration and development of tax systems, policies and processes
• Managing the administration of external tax advisors, including engagement letters, invoicing, purchase orders, etc.
• Other duties as needed to fulfil tax responsibilities for the tax department

Person Specifications

• 9+ years relevant tax experience in Big 4 and / or Industry
• Experience with cross-border international tax issues (Middle East exposure preferable)
• Experience with corporate tax accounting (US GAAP preferable)
• Accountant certification (e.g. Chartered Accountant, CPA) preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft office suite; SAP (or similar) experience preferable
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
• Some travel required
