JOB PURPOSE



Reporting to the Finance Projects Director, you will be responsible for taking a lead role in a broad range of tax and statutory compliance matters across divisional areas in the Middle East, India, Africa and Europe. The ideal candidate must have a solid tax background and have the ability to complete tax research whilst being able to demonstrate a strong core knowledge in accounting processes. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


• Manage and coordinate the preparation of the company tax returns and submit within the specified timeframe.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize compliance.
• Investigate and maintain regulatory filing compliance to ensure accurate completion of tax returns.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the implications to management, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
• Enhance tax awareness and increase the profile of the tax function to ensure that tax input is part of the business decision-making process.
• Responsible for local compliance reporting for all entities. This will include all local company secretarial requirements and ensure each requirement is met and submitted on time.
• Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities. Manage the relationship with group tax and support them with all queries raised.
• Work closely with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all tax-related matters.
• Manage and support appointed tax agents throughout the different territories.
• Maintain and prepare all balance sheet reconciliations relating to tax.
• Hiring, training, motivating and evaluating tax staff members.
• Implement a robust transfer pricing.
• Ad hoc tax and compliance project support.

Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge: Recognized tax qualification. The applicant should have considerable tax knowledge and have an understanding of how the tax function fits into the services of a Finance Department. The candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting processes especially in accounts payable.


Minimum Experience: At least five years' experience in a tax specific role with a heavy focus on the Middle East region.


Job-Specific Skills:


• Extensive tax knowledge.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or similar role, preferably in a corporate setting.
• Strong accounting, analytical and research expertise.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Mature, proactive, resourceful and hands-on with good initiative.

• Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
