:Our client is a large construction company is currently looking for a Tax Accountant who will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive tax compliance for UAE, KSA, and GCC operations, with a focus on VAT, Corporate Tax, Withholding Tax, Contract Reporting, and Transfer Pricing.This role includes assisting with tax audits, performing internal VAT health checks, and working collaboratively across departments to support accurate tax reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate has extensive knowledge of UAE, KSA, and GCC tax regulations within the construction industry, particularly concerning cross-border transactions, and customs requirements, and experience liaising with tax authorities and external tax consultants & auditors.Duties and Responsibilities:1. VAT and Tax Complianceo Assist in VAT compliance and reporting across UAE, KSA, and GCC, ensuring adherence to regional tax regulations.o Conduct internal VAT health checks for prior years, identifying potential compliance issues and recommending improvements.o Support in preparing responses to tax authority inquiries during tax audits.o Perform revenue-to-trial balance (TB) reconciliations to maintain accuracy in tax reporting.o Ensure the validity and preservation of all tax-related documents.2. Corporate Tax and Transfer Pricingo Apply UAE Corporate Tax knowledge to ensure compliance with local tax regulations and reporting requirements.o Hands-on experience in assessing transfer pricing for intra-group transactions, ensuring adherence to arms length pricing and compliance with tax regulations.3. Customs and Cross-Border Transactionso Ensure compliance with customs regulations for UAE and GCC imports and exports, managing documentation with a focus on tax compliance.o Ensure cross-border tax processes, addressing any potential liabilities and ensuring accurate record-keeping.4. Collaboration and Documentationo Work closely with Accounts and Operations teams, providing tax guidance on contracts, invoicing, and expense allocations.o Validate and organize tax documentation, ensuring records are audit ready.o Interface with tax authorities and external auditors, supporting audit processes and addressing inquiries to maintain compliance.5. Process Improvemento Identify and implement improvements in tax processes and systems to optimize efficiency and compliance.Develop and document tax procedures and best practices to enhance accuracy in tax reporting.6. Reporting and System Proficiencyo Prepare tax-related reports, returns, and summaries for submission to tax authorities and management, detailing compliance status and tax implications.o Leverage Excel and Oracle ERP for data analysis, reporting, and process automation to streamline tax workflows.RequirementsRequirementsQualifications and Skills:
Education: Masters degree in accounting, Finance/ACCA; Tax certifications are preferred.
Experience: 10+ years (5 Years UAE/KSA Taxation in the construction sector or Tax consultancy
Firm) tax and accounting with expertise in VAT, Corporate Tax, WHT, Contract Reporting, and Transfer Pricing within UAE, KSA, and GCC.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and Oracle ERP, with a strong analytical
approach to tax and financial data.
Competencies: Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and effective cross departmental communication.
Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the construction industry, customs regulations, and cross-border transactions within the GCC region.
