Job Description

The Tent Tailor is responsible for cutting, sewing, and assembling tents and other fabric structures according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various materials and sewing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in tailoring or upholstery and a strong understanding of fabric properties and construction techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabric Cutting and Sewing: Measure, cut, and sew fabric panels for tents and fabric structures using industrial sewing machines and other tools.
• Assembly: Assemble tent components, including attaching grommets, zippers, and other hardware.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Pattern Making: Create and modify patterns based on design specifications and customer requirements.
• Repairs: Perform repairs on damaged tents and fabric structures, including patching holes and reinforcing seams.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience in tailoring, upholstery, or a related field; experience with tent or canvas work is a plus.
• Skills: Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other sewing equipment; strong attention to detail and precision.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
