Position: Tailor - Furniture Upholstery

Location: Sharjah, UAE Job Type: Full-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing and upholstery, particularly in the creation and repair of sofas and other furniture pieces. This role involves working closely with our design and production teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sewing and Upholstery: Perform precise sewing and upholstery tasks on various types of furniture, including sofas, chairs, and custom pieces.
• Fabric Cutting and Preparation: Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics for upholstery, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Repair and Maintenance: Repair and maintain upholstered furniture, replacing damaged fabrics and padding as needed.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet the company's quality standards and client specifications.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers and production staff to execute custom designs and ensure seamless production processes.
• Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain sewing machines and other upholstery tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sewing and furniture upholstery, particularly with sofas and other upholstered furniture.
• Proficient in using industrial sewing machines, fabric cutters, and upholstery tools.
• Strong understanding of different fabric types, upholstery techniques, and furniture construction.
• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in sewing and fabric handling.
• Ability to bring creative ideas to life and work with designers on custom projects.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and handling heavy fabrics and furniture.
• Formal training or certification in sewing and upholstery will be an advantage
• Familiarity with CAD software or other design tools related to upholstery and furniture design.
• Basic knowledge of fabrication, electrical components related to upholstery, and CNC operations.
• Have UAE Driving License is another plus
