Transguard Group is the UAEs most trusted business support and outsourcing provider and has a large, dynamic, and culturally diverse workforce with 50,000 employees!We are currently recruiting for a System Administrator - ICT Infrastructure to join our Information, Communication & Technology team in our HQ, located in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Freezone.Scope: The System Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of the organization's IT infrastructure systems. This includes servers, storage devices, virtualization platforms, disaster recovery, operating systems, emails, Microsoft 365 environment, and related hardware and software components. The role involves ensuring the reliability, security, continuity, and optimal performance of IT systems to support business operations.Financial

• Collaborate closely with the IT Infrastructure Manager to develop and refine budgetary plans for IT infrastructure systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
• Thoroughly assess hardware and software requirements for upcoming projects or maintenance cycles, considering factors such as scalability, performance, and vendor pricing
• Regularly monitor expenditures related to server infrastructure, tracking costs associated with hardware purchases, software licenses, maintenance contracts, and other relevant expenses
• Proactively identify opportunities to optimize spending and reduce overhead, such as renegotiating vendor contracts, consolidating hardware resources, or implementing more cost-effective software solutions

Customer

• Provide high-level technical assistance to end-users and internal stake holders, serving as a primary point of contact for resolving complex IT infrastructure issues and challenges
• Design and execute projects concerning IT server infrastructure, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards
• Provide advanced technical support for server infrastructure, storage systems, SAN, backup solutions, Office365, EDR, XDR, Intune, SCCM, SCOM, and disaster recovery systems.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and incidents promptly, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of critical services
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures, while ensuring regular testing and updates to disaster recovery plans. Coordinate business continuity efforts to ensure minimal disruption in case of primary IT failures
• Deliver exceptional customer service to end-users, demonstrating strong communication skills and professionalism

Process

• Establish a regular schedule for applying patches and firmware updates to servers, storage systems, SAN, backup solutions, Office365, EDR/XDR platforms, Intune, SCCM, SCOM, and other vital infrastructure components as per industry best practices
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation and ensure that documentation is kept up-to-date and easily accessible to relevant stakeholders, facilitating efficient troubleshooting, system maintenance, and knowledge transfer
• Adhere strictly to established ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) best practices and frameworks for incident management, change management, and problem resolution
• Follow a structured change management process when implementing modifications to IT infrastructure systems, carefully assessing potential impacts and risks before proceeding with changes
• Conduct post-implementation reviews and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes, identifying lessons learned and areas for improvement

• Stay abreast of the latest developments, trends, and emerging technologies within the field of IT infrastructure management
• Proactively identify opportunities to enhance IT infrastructure efficiency, reliability, and security through the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies
• Propose and champion the implementation of new solutions, tools, or processes that have the potential to drive significant improvements in IT infrastructure performance or operational effectiveness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative strategies for optimizing IT infrastructure resources, reducing costs, and mitigating risks
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented innovations through regular performance evaluations and metrics tracking, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes

SkillsSelection Criteria

• Minimum 3 years\' experience in working in a similar position
• Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field would be of benefit but not mandatory
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a System Administrator or similar role
• Experience with various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Unix
• Knowledge of system security (e.g., intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with various networking protocols, services, and standards
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), CompTIA Network+, or similar are advantageous
