As the Head Sushi Chef for Kokoro Dubai, your responsibilities would include:
1. Food Quality Control: Maintaining high standards of food quality, freshness, and presentation in all sushi dishes served at the restaurant.
2. Kitchen Management: Assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the sushi kitchen, including inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
3. Quality Assurance: Conducting regular inspections of ingredients, ensuring they meet quality standards, and implementing measures to prevent food waste and control costs.
4. Customer Satisfaction: Ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and that their sushi dining experience meets or exceeds their expectations.
5. Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Adhering to all food safety regulations and ensuring that the sushi kitchen maintains cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
6. Collaboration with Management: Working closely with restaurant management to develop strategies for improving sushi sales, maximizing profitability, and enhancing the overall dining experience.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- At least 5 years of experience working specifically with Japanese cuisine, with a focus on sushi preparation.
- A strong understanding of Japanese culinary techniques, including sushi rolling, knife skills, and fish preparation.
- Creativity and a passion for innovation in sushi presentation and flavor combinations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff and management.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service.
- Comfortable in dealing with customers siting at the bar.
