Key Responsibilities:

Construct and repair various masonry structures, including walls, floors, foundations, and decorative stonework using bricks, blocks, and stones. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project dimensions, layout, and materials. Mix and prepare mortar, cement, and other building materials according to project requirements and safety standards. Precisely measure, cut, and shape masonry materials to meet construction plans and specifications. Build and repair key structural elements such as chimneys, fireplaces, and retaining walls with exceptional craftsmanship. Coordinate and collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards. Ensure that all masonry work adheres to local building codes and industry regulations. Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and safe storage of masonry tools and equipment. Maintain a clean, organized work area, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment for all team members. Assist in the preparation of the job site, ensuring that necessary tools and materials are ready for use. Keep abreast of new techniques and materials in the masonry industry to improve the quality of work. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of construction projects.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Mason, Bricklayer, or in a similar construction role with hands-on experience in masonry work. Solid knowledge of masonry materials, construction techniques, and equipment use. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction specifications. Experience with a variety of masonry tasks such as laying bricks, stones, blocks, and working with mortar and cement. Excellent attention to detail and high standards of craftsmanship. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and meet deadlines effectively. Strong physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with contractors, supervisors, and other workers. Knowledge of and commitment to safety regulations and procedures within the construction industry. Flexibility to work on a variety of projects, with a willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
