The key objectives for this role are:

• Responsible for the leadership and management of a deployed supply chain project team providing all aspects of supply chain management including materials management, warehousing, expediting, procurement, subcontracts, negotiation and reporting. Key aspects of the role include the direction and management of the supply chain activities for EPC and EPCm projects. The administration and supervision of assigned supply chain personnel working within the project. Ensuring the competence and performance of all assigned supply chain personnel within their role. The Supply Chain manager shall develop and implement strategies for subcontracting that align with the overall project goals and company objectives. This includes identifying potential subcontractors, define pre-qualification criteria, assessing their capabilities, and establishing partnerships that can adapt to changing project needs. The Supply Chain manager will be also familiar with the prevention, assessment and final resolution of claims and disputes on complex subcontracts.
• Clear understanding of the client's head contract requirements including Wood responsibilities and incorporates those into appropriate project supply chain strategies, plans, procedures and terms and conditions. Understand and manage threats to the commercial position of Wood and Client, and develop plans to mitigate commercial risks. Has strong knowledge of commercial terms and conditions, interfaces with Wood legal/commercial experts and can initiate/discuss adaptations in order to reach a robust commercial agreement. Regularly monitors and reports progress of all project procurement activities. Ensures team regularly update reports/systems with required information to allow accurate reporting, and escalates any critical issues and risks to project management.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with project goals and organizational objectives, particularly for large-scale EPC projects.
• Procurement Management: Lead procurement activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Logistics Coordination: Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management, to ensure the timely delivery of materials to project sites.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with project director and engineering teams to understand project requirements and timelines, facilitating effective communication and coordination.
• Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions to project schedules.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiency and effectiveness, providing regular reports to senior management.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure alignment and compliance throughout the supply chain process.
• Budget Management: Oversee the supply chain budget, ensuring cost control measures are in place and adhered to.
• Compliance: Manages, directs and supports others engaged in the full range of supply chain activities, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and relevant reporting requirements.
• Contractual Expertise: drafting, negotiating, and managing complex subcontracts. This includes understanding legal implications, risk management, and ensuring that all agreements meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Claim prevention and management ensures that all the measures to reduce the possibility to receive claims from subcontractors are put in place. In case a claim is received, coordinates the team to develop the claim assessment and successful resolution
• Accountable for the successful set up and delivery of all project supply chain processes, procedures and activities.
• Ensures all supply chain activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution plan/schedule and/or contracting strategy, within approved budgets and in line with project processes and procedures.
• Prepare and issue the project specific procurement execution plan and/or contracting strategy, and contract schedule in line with project scope including the application and association of computerised systems.
• Establish and manage the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead times, notifying any delays to the project manager.
• Establish and chair regular PSR meetings with client, procurement, engineering and/or project management personnel to ensure dates for pre-order deliverables are being maintained.
• Establishes priorities, assigns workloads and reviews the more difficult and complex aspects of the supply chain workload.
• Ensure that client main contract, terms and conditions, schedules, change control procedures and commercial frameworks are embedded in the supply chain activities for the project.
• Ensures that all relevant stakeholders understand both Woods and the suppliers specific contractual obligations and responsibilities.
• Utilization of Wood Approved Supplier Register (ASR) supplemented when required by project/client approved supplier registers for supplier evaluation, audit, and selection.
• Ensure Supplier performance reviews and ongoing management ensuring corrective actions are taken where required.
• Ensures that supply chain team carry out all activity in accordance with the Wood Supply Chain Code of Conduct, ensures that all statutory and legal requirements and applicable processes and procedures are complied with, and all documents are filed accurately and fully auditable.
• Promote safe working practices and demonstrate safety leadership at all times.
• Act as a role model and champion Woods vision, values and behaviors.
• Act as a role model to embed the Financial Management Framework across the business
• Implement robust performance management and development plans for the team, ensuring any gaps are addressed and development and succession planning is managed effectively
• Subcontract Development and Negotiation: Lead the development and negotiation of subcontract agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to create comprehensive subcontract sourcing documentation.
• Ensures the detailed review and approves the Contractor's interim payment certificates in accordance with the processes set out by the contract
• Set the rules for the review, in particular for the unit price (re-measured) contracts, the quantities' remeasurement submitted by Contractors, and correct application of unit prices (to be in accordance with the contract price list, and contract requirements
• Assure that extra works, claims, back charges, liquidated damages and close out of the contract are performed / processed in accordance with the project rules and policies

Expected:

• Degree qualified or equivalent in business studies, law, engineering, supply chain or similar discipline or industry equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role on large-scale EPC and EPCM projects in the oil and gas sector.
• Extensive track record managing supply chain activities within the Oil and Gas sector
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
