Job Description

The jobholder contribute to Startup the Area Focal Point for Electrical Maintenance trouble shooting, pre-commissioning, commissioning and successful start-up of electrical equipment and to lead and manage a Maintenance team comprising of Sr. Technicians and Technicians (Contract Hire) and ensures that electrical systems on facilities are safely commissioned and can be operated in a manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and complex HSE policy and procedures.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESElectrical Maintenance
- To Discusses the maintenance schedule and the daily plan with the Planners and Operation teams to ensure optimum use of resources such as time, material and labour.
- To ensure execution of scheduled preventative maintenance and Corrective maintenance activities on large and complex equipment to ensure proper operating conditions of Company's assets and adherence to international standards
- To Manage shift pool system, co-ordinate and provide technical support to shift personnel for any requirement related to job
- To provide day to day instructions for safe job execution
- To supervise electrical maintenance jobs for the assigned plant area with objectives to minimize failures, reduce maintenance costs, prevent production losses and improve equipment reliability & availability
- To carry out detailed investigation and analysis of any electrical equipment related issues and initiate Failure Report (FR) for further actions.
- To complete detailed Technical Feedback on SAP for future failure analysis
- To assists in root cause failure analysis with engineers, Specialists and supervisors.
- To attend interface meetings with vendors and custodian departments in order to facilitate resolution of issues and promote good working relations.
- To arrange vendors\' visits in case of plant emergency
- To develop work instructions and check lists to be used on the execution of maintenance works and contributes to the development of procedures and guidelines
- To ensure that electrical systems on facilities can be operated in a safe and environmentally sound manner to comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in accordance with company guidelines and complex HSE policy and procedures.
- To conducts task risk assessment and responsible for maintaining safety at work location.Startup Accountability
- To Discusses the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up schedule and the daily plan with the Planners and Operation teams to ensure optimum use of resources such as time, material and labour.
- To ensure execution of scheduled pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up maintenance and troubleshooting maintenance activities on large and complex equipment to ensure proper operating conditions of Company's assets and adherence to international standards
- To co-ordinate and provide technical support to shift personnel for any requirement related to job
- To provide day to day instructions for safe job execution
- To Supervise electrical maintenance jobs for the assigned plant area with objectives to minimize failures, reduce pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up delays and ensure equipment reliability & availability
- To do Visual, Close and Detailed inspection of installed electrical equipment
- To witness and approve Functional Tests, Equipment Run tests, etc.
- To participate in Safety Audits and Area Walk downs and to agree on acceptation list before Ready for Start Up.
- To review and approve procurement of required spare parts based on equipment criticality analyses.
- To receive and physically inspect delivered spare parts
- To complete detailed Technical Feedback in SAP for future failure analysis
- To verify that required PM plans for equipment maintenance and preservation are executed as per procedures
- To maintain equipment files that contain equipment datasheet, maintenance logbook, history and any other relevant records like calibration reports, checklist etc.
- To attend interface meetings with Project Teams and custodian departments in order to facilitate resolution of issues and promote good working relations.
- To develop work instructions and check lists to be used on the execution of maintenance works and contributes to the development of procedures and guidelines

- Acting as Section-Head for short term leaves.
- To ensure the effective achievement of the Maintenance departmental objectives through the leadership of the Instrumentation and Control team- setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal - in order to maximise subordinate and the performance of the group.
- Coordinates with different departments to ensure the timely completion of all maintenance jobs in the most safe & effective manner.
- Maintains records of the work performed and in progress in the computerized system, other related data, processes the paperwork related to the jobs and provides inputs for the monthly report.
- Performs time entry approval for the technicians working under him. Ensures the work orders are properly confirmed and failure codes are put for all the jobs performed in SAP.
- Coordinates with all his team members the overall annual leave plan in order to have an even manpower distribution ensuring the minimum availability.
- To assign mentors for development of assigned UAE nationals to support company's Emiratization program.
- Supports the development of the UAE Nationals attached to his team, reviews and follows up their progress
- Sets up Performance Contracts with his team of technicians, following up and assessing the performance.
- Contributes for the evaluation of the contractor's technicians before they join the team and follows-up their performance afterwards.
- Determines the training needs for the team members and trainees, and ensures the adequate training on-the-job for their skill's development.
- Performs Task Risk Assessment for critical activities and then ensures job is carried out strictly in accordance with the TRABorouge Corporate Responsibilities
- Understand and keep abreast about Borouge's vision, mission, main strategies and objectives, and communicate the same among the respective team, and ensure that the team live and exercise Borouge's values with all colleagues and stakeholders.
- To keep abreast and knowledgeable about his / her role contribution towards the areas of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Sustainability, Energy Management, Ethics & Regulations, and Quality Management and its respective policies, frameworks, procedures, and objectives.
- Comply, support and enrich the culture and understanding of it through his / her communications with the internal and external contacts

- Supervise the daily activities by the team to meet the department / team plans.

- Keep aware and knowledgeable about the respective processes\' owners, policies, procedures, forms, and other relevant information, and communicate the same.
- Provide with the necessary feedback and observations to the direct supervisor / team leader with regards to daily process outputs.
- Analyse and address any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.HSE Excellence
- Keep abreast and knowledgeable on the updates for Health, Safety, Environment, Crisis Management, and Risk Registers for all the performed processes, projects and activities within the operating zone.
- Supervise the acts by the team to ensure compliance with HSE-related procedures, practices and norms in the workspace.
- Adhere to the safe acts and practices in the workplace to ensure her / his own safety, colleagues, and company assets and resources.Processes & Systems
- Implement approved the respective policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the work programs.
- Perform the procedures / SOP in line with the respective processes and activities to ensure timely processing.
- Provide with feedback on updating and implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of processes.
- Make sure full compliance to Quality Management System's controlled documents, and implemented practices in line with ISO standards to ensure consistency in the respective processes.Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSMinimum Qualification
- Essential academic degree is 2 yr Diploma in Instrument / electronic / communication technical qualification.Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
- 8 years of work experience in installation, repair, testing and maintenance of a wide range Instrumentation and control systems of production facilities in refinery / petrochemical / Oil & Gas industries.
- Maintenance Experience with HV, MV and LV motors.
- Thorough knowledge on electrical protection control systems.
- Vast experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of power electronic equipment such as AC/DC UPS, Variable Speed Drive, Convertor and Electrical Heater.
- Vast experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of Switchgear/MCC, Transformer, Diesel Engine Generator and Power Factor Correction Panel
- Familiar with vendor software such as Schneider PowerSuite, ABB PCM600 and other VSD communication software from Leroy Somer, Ansaldo, Danfoss and SEW Euro
- Awareness about ATEX, Hazardous Area Classifications and its installations.
- Thorough knowledge of HSE requirements for field maintenance jobs.
- Being able to Lead a team of direct hired & body shop technicians on the job,
- Customer orientated.
- Coaching skills of advance level.
- Analyzing the behaviour of subordinates.
- Have excellent safety record and a stable employment track record.
- Good communication and technical report writing skills in English.
- Team working attitude in multi-cultural, multi-national work environment.
- Practical knowledge of CMMS systems like SAPProfessional Certifications
