This includes overseeing the daily operations of maintenance and repair, budgeting, survey schedules, onboard general assessment of vessels, inspections, and docking.Ensure the assigned vessels are technically operational or otherwise managed accordingly to the management agreement requirement, to ensure that the fleet technical performance is safe, efficient, reliable and in line with operating targets and applicable regulations and standards within the assigned department.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESJob Specific Accountabilities
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the dry fleet department strategic plan (from a technical perspective) to ensure the alignment with ADNOC strategy and provide advice on technical matters to shipmasters/chief engineers and others as required.
  • Receive and review ship requests for repairs and where required, ensure supervision of such repairs to ensure compliance with class and International Marine Organization (IMO), OCIMF and ICS rules and recommendations while remaining within budgeted costs.
  • Supervise the dry-docking process through preparing ships\xe2\x80\x99 dry dock repair specifications, analysing tendering documents and supervising dry docking repairs to ensure they are performed in alignment with budgeted costs and company and industry standards.
  • Follow up planned maintenance schedules and that ship certifications are renewed as required in order to ensure equipment longevity and operation, in line with standards.
  • Supervise completion of maintenance work, including acquisition of equipment/spare part required in maintenance, in line with standards and procedures.
  • Follow up effective provision of marine equipment (navigation, safety, communication) and spare parts on the company\xe2\x80\x99s dry fleet in order to ensure that vessel requests for such items are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor and control the consumption of relevant stores, spare parts, fuel, lube oils and chemicals.
  • Carry out technical inspections of the ships\xe2\x80\x99 machinery, equipment, structures and documentation in order to ensure compliance with company standards, industry practice and safe operations.
  • Maintain the monitoring systems which record technical aspects - including ship/shore loading, passage performance (loaded / ballast), fuel oil consumption and cargo gas boil off, equipment performance, dry docking, and other maintenance activities.
  • Follow up proper implementation of record system of ships under his supervision and prepare and submit detailed reports on technical activities and expenditures in order to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Ensure all relevant health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and controls are adhered to so that own and employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality operations and a responsible environmental attitude can be guaranteed.
  • Draft budget and provide information to the preparation of the dry fleet technical budget (including repairs) and to the monitoring of technical costs versus the set budget to ensure alignment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent from a recognized institution or foreign going CoC (Class 1) (motor or steam) or equivalent qualification.8 years of experience, progressing to the rank of Senior Officer or Chief Engineer and 1 year as a technical superintendent or an equivalent experienceExperience on tankers/crude oil carriers in the oil and gas transportation industry, Dry Bulk and Containers
