Structural Engineer (supervision Consultant)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Structural Engineer with at least 8-10 years of professional experience at DUBAI. As a Structural Engineer, you will be having good knowledge of Dubai's construction regulations (DM / DDA / Trakhees, etc.), overseeing various projects from initiation to structural completion and ensuring their successful execution by the appointed Contractor adhering to specifications, drawings and within the stipulated timelines.

Responsibilities:

Review shop drawings, inspection requests, method statements, and other submissions from contractor related to all Structural works. Reviewing, approving and processing all structural technical submittals.

Review the submissions of works related to Structure / Architecture, shop drawings, method statements, and other related documents from the contractor and ensure that the works are carried out by such approved samples and documents.

Participate in kick-off meetings, weekly progress meetings, and also participate in Technical & Coordination meetings with Consultant RE / PM, Client Contractor to resolve technical & coordination issues.

Supervise and inspect all structural works on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications, codes, standards; contract drawing and specification.

Ensure all work is performed according to approved plans, structural designs and specifications.

Monitoring the structural works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.

Monitor daily progress and address any issues or delays.

Familiar with construction methodologies, and processes.

Well knowledge of Local authority's requirements and Building international standards.

Monitor the construction progress and the quality of works carried out by the contractor to be completed within the allowed time and

Well knowledge of products/ materials and equipment for construction use.

Signing off on completed structural works with completed documentation and maintaining the required record.

Ensure that works are carried out by the approved health and safety measures.

Manage project timelines and ensure that structural tasks are completed within schedule.

Answering RFIs related to Structure and Architecture.

Ensure coordination between Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Architectural teams on site.

Regulatory Compliance and Design Resolutions. Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.

Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Conduct regular site meetings to discuss progress, issues, and updates.

Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Good at communication and technical skills. Report writing and documentation skills.

Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.

Proactively collaborate with other members of the team to deliver innovative and balanced best value solutions that meet the Client's requirements.

Manage BIM technicians and mentoring graduate engineers.

Implement and maintain quality control procedures.

Conduct inspections and tests to ensure the quality of materials and workmanship.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Monitor Contractor compliance with Safety Program and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures are followed during project execution

Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and material usage.

Prepare and submit regular reports on project status, including any deviations from the plan.

Prepare site records and reporting.

Reviewing the contractor's project record documents relevant to their discipline.

Assist in supervising the work of all structural activities and operations, maintaining progress records and reporting.

Reviewing contractor's structural change order claims and preparing recommendations to Consultant RE / PM.

Processing construction documentation such as, responding to RFI's and commenting on engineering submittals.

Identify and resolve any technical or operational issues on site.

Implement corrective actions as necessary to address construction challenges.

Review engineering designs and provide input on their suitability. Advise on changes if required during the engineering phase.

Perform all other duties given by Consultant RE / PM related to Structural works.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Structure field from a recognized University. Master's degree in Structural Engineering would be preferable but not mandatory.

Minimum Eight to Ten (8-10) years' experience in Structural engineering with reputable international consultants and or with five (5) years in the Middle East.

Understanding of engineering principles, structural analysis, design concepts, and other Structural and building process.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Excellent HSE knowledge and awareness.

Excellent local Authority knowledge and experience.

Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solutions (Excel, Word, Project), Structural Design softwares.

The ideal candidate should possess the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. And effectively collaborate and communicate effectively with the Supervision team and other stakeholders (Client / Main Contractor).
