Title: Structural Engineer

UAE MAIN CONTRACTING HIGHRISE BUILDING EXPERIENCE ONLY

Location: Dubai

Responsibilities:

• Perform in-depth structural analysis using engineering principles and software like ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, and SAP2000 to determine load-bearing capacities, stress distribution, and material durability.
• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for critical structural elements, including beams, columns, and foundations, to evaluate performance under different loading conditions.
• Develop precise bar bending schedules (BBS) to outline rebar sizes, lengths, shapes, and positions for accurate reinforcement and reduced wastage.
• Conduct design calculations for elements such as slabs, beams, and shear walls to ensure they meet local regulations, international standards, and load-resistance requirements.
• Generate reinforced concrete detailing, including 3D modeling and CAD drawings, to support clear communication of design intent to construction teams.
• Apply seismic and wind load design methods specific to high-rise and complex structures, following Dubai's building code standards and requirements.
• Review construction materials, including steel and concrete grades, for structural compliance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Analyze structural deflection and settlement tolerances to ensure building performance remains within safe limits throughout the lifecycle.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, and contractors to resolve technical challenges, provide alternative structural solutions, and ensure that on-site work aligns with design plans.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, a master's degree is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in structural design for high-rise, commercial, or complex building projects within Dubai or UAE.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software, including ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, and AutoCAD, with knowledge of Revit Structure as a plus.
• Expertise in structural calculations and in developing Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) for reinforcement detailing.
• In-depth understanding of Dubai Municipality codes, UAE construction regulations, and international standards such as ACI, BS, and Eurocodes.
