: Structural CAD Draughtsman

A Structural CAD Draughtsman is a professional responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for construction projects, focusing on the structural elements such as foundations, beams, columns, and walls. Using specialized software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla), the draughtsman works closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure the accuracy and precision of structural designs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Drawing Preparation :

o Produce detailed structural drawings, plans, and designs for construction projects.

o Create 2D and 3D CAD models based on the structural engineer's concepts and specifications.

o Prepare drawings for foundations, columns, beams, floors, and other structural components.

2. Design Coordination :

o Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and other professionals to clarify design requirements.

o Modify and update drawings as needed based on feedback from engineers or other stakeholders.

o Ensure that the structural design complies with local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.

3. Drafting and Documentation :

o Review drawings for errors and inconsistencies before submission or presentation to clients.

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all designs and drawings.

o Prepare and organize drawings for permits, inspections, and project bidding.

4. Quality Control :

o Check the accuracy of the dimensions, measurements, and materials used in the drawings.

o Ensure drawings are created according to the latest project specifications, codes, and regulations.

o Review and revise drawings based on comments or modifications from senior engineers and architects.

5. Software Proficiency :

o Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, etc.) to generate and modify designs.

o Stay updated on the latest software updates and drafting techniques.

o Ensure files are properly saved, labelled, and organized for easy retrieval and collaboration.

6. Project Support :

o Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and material specifications for structural components.

o Provide support in project management, attending meetings to understand and contribute to the overall construction design.

o Assist in preparing as-built drawings during or after project completion.

Key Skills:

Proficiency in CAD Software (AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar).

Strong understanding of structural design principles and engineering concepts .

Ability to interpret and create complex technical drawings and blueprints.

Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations , and construction standards .

Attention to detail and ability to spot errors or inconsistencies.

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with engineers, architects, and construction teams.

Educational Qualifications:

A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering , Structural Engineering , or Architectural Drafting .

Certification in CAD Software (such as AutoCAD certification) is a plus.

Experience:

Typically requires 7-12 years of experience in structural drafting or CAD design within the construction or engineering industry.

Work Environment:

Structural CAD Draughtsmen typically work in office settings within engineering firms, architectural offices, or construction companies.

Some travel may be required to construction sites to verify details or take measurements.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month

• Dubai: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
