Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The purpose of the job of a Structural Draftsman is to produce accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans that serve as a blueprint for the construction and fabrication of structures. These drawings are essential for ensuring that structural elements are built to design specifications and comply with relevant building codes and standards.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, including shop drawings, plans, and diagrams based on project specifications and requirements.
- Collaborate with structural engineers and other team members to understand project scope and deliverables.
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other related documents.
- Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
- Revise and update drawings as required by engineers or project managers.
- Maintain and organize drawing files, both digital and hard copies.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as architectural, MEP, and civil teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Structural Draftsman in the GCC region.
- Proven experience working with contracting companies in the GCC.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant drafting software.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards in the GCC.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing drawings.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
